These Berry Patriotic 4th of July Trifles are a delightful and festive dessert perfect for celebrating Independence Day. Layers of ladyfingers, creamy filling, and fresh berries create a patriotic treat that is sure to impress your guests.

Ladyfinger Layer:
- 8 ladyfinger cookies
Strawberry Layer:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Blueberry Layer:
- 1 cup blueberries
Cream Layer:
- 1 8 ounce block of cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For serving:
- 4 9–ounce cups OR
- 4 9–ounce mason jars
Instructions
- Slice and Prepare Berries: Slice two strawberries lengthwise, hull and slice the remaining strawberries.
- Create Cream Layer: In a large bowl, blend softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add milk and vanilla extract, mix until well combined. Set aside.
- Assemble Trifles: Layer ladyfingers, cream cheese mixture, strawberries, more ladyfingers, cream cheese mixture, and blueberries in cups or jars. Top each with half a strawberry and extra berries if desired.
- Chill: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate if not serving immediately.
Notes
- Substitute ladyfingers with alternative cakes
- Use instant pudding mix as an alternative to the cream cheese layer
- Recipe can be made gluten-free with gluten-free ladyfingers
