Ingredients

Units Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 (9 oz) can potato sticks, about 6 cups

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup robin’s eggs candies or pastel M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Melt Butterscotch and Peanut Butter
Heat the butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a microwave using 30-second intervals. Stir before microwaving again each time until the mixture is smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat to avoid burning.
  2. Combine with Potato Sticks
Add the potato sticks to a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted butterscotch and peanut butter mixture over the potato sticks, then gently stir to coat every piece thoroughly. Make sure all the potato sticks are evenly covered for the best taste and consistency.
  3. Shape Candies
Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a lined baking sheet to form individual clusters. Shape them slightly if needed, ensuring they hold together.
  4. Add Toppings
Press three robin’s eggs candies or pastel M&Ms onto the top of each cluster to add a festive Easter touch. Gently press them into the mixture to keep them in place.
  5. Set the Candies
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 15 minutes to set the candies quickly. Alternatively, store them in the refrigerator until they are firm and ready to serve.
  6. Serve
Arrange the candies on a tray for serving or place them in mini cupcake liners for a fun and mess-free presentation. Enjoy these sweet and salty treats with family and friends!

Notes

  • If you don’t have a microwave, you can melt the butterscotch chips and peanut butter over a stovetop using a double boiler.
  • These candies are perfect for any holiday; swap the robin’s eggs or pastel M&Ms with seasonally themed candies to suit the occasion.
  • Store the candies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Avoid substitutions for the potato sticks as they provide the unique crispy texture that sets these candies apart.
