For the Chicken:
- 450g (1 pound) chicken breast meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 4 tbsp Char Siu sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground white pepper
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
For the Stir-Fry:
- 1/2 medium-sized carrot, cut into thin strips
- 2 stalks scallions, sliced
- 450g (1 pound) cabbage, core removed and leaves cut into pieces
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1 medium-sized onion, cut into small chunks
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, marinate the chicken pieces with Char Siu sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper for 30 minutes to an hour.
- Prepare Vegetables: Cut the vegetables as instructed.
- Stir-Fry: Sauté marinated chicken until golden brown. Remove from skillet. Sauté onion, garlic, and carrot. Add cabbage and cook until crisp-tender. Season with salt, soy sauce, and pepper. Return chicken to the pan, add scallions, adjust seasoning, and serve.
