Sugar Syrup:
- 1 cup Imperial sugar granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Fruit Skewers:
- 1/2 lbs fruits of choice (Strawberries, pineapple, kiwis, oranges)
- Wooden skewers
- Ice water
Instructions
- Prepare the Fruit: Wash and dry the fruit thoroughly before starting.
- Make Sugar Syrup: In a medium pot, combine sugar and water. Heat over medium heat until the mixture reaches 275-329°F.
- Dip the Fruit: Skewer the fruits and dip them in the sugar syrup. Rotate the skewer to coat evenly.
- Harden the Sugar: Allow excess sugar to drip off, then briefly dip the fruit in ice water to harden the sugar.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- If the sugar syrup crystallizes, add a little water and reheat to correct temperature before dipping the fruits again.
- Be cautious not to overheat the syrup, as it can turn into caramel.
