Description

A refreshing and vibrant hibiscus tea strawberry lemonade refresher that is perfect for a hot summer day. This drink combines the tartness of hibiscus tea with the sweetness of fresh strawberries and a hint of zesty lemon.


Ingredients

Hibiscus Tea:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 hibiscus tea bags OR 2 tablespoons of dried hibiscus flowers

Strawberry Puree:

  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 23 tablespoons maple syrup, adjust to taste

Optional Toppings:

  • Extra sliced strawberries and lemon slices
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Hibiscus Tea: In a tea kettle, bring water to a boil. Remove from heat, add hibiscus tea bags or flowers, steep for 5-7 minutes. Remove tea bags or strain flowers, let cool.
  2. Strawberry Puree: Blend strawberries with ¼ cup of cooled hibiscus tea until smooth. Optionally strain for a smoother texture.
  3. In a pitcher, combine hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Stir well. Adjust sweetness and tartness to taste. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices, strawberries, and mint.

Notes

  • You can brew the hibiscus tea in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
  • If the tea is pre-chilled, the recipe can be prepared in about 10 minutes.
