Crust and Sauce
- 1 Refrigerated Pizza Crust (about 13 oz)
- 1/4 cup Pizza Sauce for brushing
- Additional Pizza Sauce for dipping (quantity as desired)
Meats
- 1/4 lb Thinly Sliced Deli Ham
- 1/4 lb Sliced Deli Salami
- 1/4 lb Sliced Deli Pepperoni
Cheese and Seasonings
- 3 cups Grated Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 2 tbsp Butter, melted
- Garlic Powder, to taste
- Dried Parsley, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it’s hot enough to crisp and cook the stromboli evenly.
- Prepare the Crust: Roll out the refrigerated pizza crust onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the surface with 1/4 cup of pizza sauce evenly to add moisture and flavor.
- Add Fillings: Layer the ham evenly over the sauce, then sprinkle one cup of grated mozzarella cheese on top. Follow with a layer of salami and another layer of cheese, then the pepperoni topped with remaining cheese. Sprinkle the entire surface with 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning to enhance the flavors.
- Roll and Seal: Carefully roll up the crust into a tight log, starting from one side, and pinch all the seams closed to prevent filling leakage during baking.
- Butter and Season the Top: Brush the melted butter generously over the top of the rolled stromboli. Sprinkle garlic powder and dried parsley evenly for added aroma and flavor.
- Vent the Dough: Cut several slits on top of the roll to allow steam to escape while baking, ensuring a crisp crust and properly cooked filling.
- Bake: Place the stromboli in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
- Rest: Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes so the cheese inside can set, making it easier to slice.
- Slice and Serve: Cut the stromboli into slices and serve warm with additional warmed pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
- This recipe is very customizable. Feel free to use any toppings that you like such as different meats, vegetables, or cheeses.
- Make sure to seal the seams tightly to prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
- Allowing the stromboli to rest after baking improves slicing and prevents cheese from oozing out.
- You can add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top before baking for extra flavor.
