Description

Enjoy delicious lemon glazed donuts made effortlessly in the air fryer with this quick and simple recipe. These donuts use refrigerated buttermilk biscuits and are topped with a tangy lemon glaze for a zesty treat perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Donuts

      • 16 oz package refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
      • Non-Stick Cooking Spray

For the Lemon Glaze

    • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup whole milk (may add or subtract for desired glaze consistency)
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons lemon zest (divided)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Donuts: Cut a 1-inch circle in the center of each uncooked biscuit using an icing tip or bottle top to create the donut shape.
  2. Preheat Air Fryer: Spray the bottom of your air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Arrange Biscuits: Place the biscuit donuts in the air fryer basket about 1 inch apart to allow for even cooking and to prevent sticking together.
  4. Air Fry the Donuts: Air fry the donuts at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes, or until they are baked through and golden brown. Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly.
  5. Make the Lemon Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon lemon zest until smooth. Adjust the milk quantity to reach your preferred glaze consistency.
  6. Glaze the Donuts: Dip the top side of each donut into the lemon glaze, then lift up and turn over so the glazed side is facing up.
  7. Add Lemon Zest: Sprinkle the remaining 1 tablespoon of lemon zest over the glazed donuts for extra flavor and visual appeal.
  8. Serve: Serve the donuts warm for best taste, or allow them to cool and enjoy later.

Notes

  • Donuts taste best when fresh and warm.
  • Store leftover donuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can adjust the thickness of the glaze by using more or less milk.
  • Make donut holes with the centers for mini treats.
