Description

These Maple Bourbon Glazed Carrots are a delicious and elegant side dish. The carrots are sautéed until tender-crisp and coated in a rich maple bourbon glaze, making them a perfect addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced diagonally
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • Dash of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Sauté Carrots: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add carrots and sauté for 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until starting to char.
  2. Add Spices and Glaze: Sprinkle with ginger. Add maple syrup and bourbon. Sauté for 10 more minutes, or until the glaze thickens and carrots are tender-crisp.
  3. Serve: Sprinkle with chives and sea salt. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Stir carrots frequently to prevent scorching.
  • Use caution when adding bourbon and maple syrup to the hot skillet, as steam will rise.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
  • If the glaze thickens too much, add a tablespoon or two of water to thin it out.
