Description

A delightful Quick and Easy Maple Pecan Baked Brie Appetizer that combines creamy double cream brie cheese with a sweet and spiced pecan topping. This warm, gooey appetizer is perfect for fall and winter gatherings and pairs wonderfully with crackers or crostini.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese

  • 250-350 g wheel of double cream brie cheese

Topping

  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup pecan halves

Garnish

  • Fresh rosemary or fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish with a piece of parchment paper. This will prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare Brie: Place the wheel of brie into the parchment-lined baking dish. Lightly score the top of the brie in a diagonal pattern with a sharp knife to help the flavors penetrate and the cheese to melt evenly.
  3. Make Pecan Topping: In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined. Stir in the pecan halves, ensuring they are fully coated with the syrup mixture.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Spoon the pecan topping on top of the brie, drizzling any remaining syrup mixture over the nuts and cheese. Place the assembled brie in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the cheese starts to bubble and nearly ooze out.
  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and spoon any maple sauce collected in the baking dish over the baked brie and pecans. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme. Serve warm with your favorite crackers or toasted baguette slices (crostini).
