Description

This Peaches and Cream Oatmeal is a warm and comforting breakfast, perfect for a cozy morning. Made easily in a slow cooker, steel-cut oats are simmered with milk, cinnamon, and fresh peaches, then sweetened with brown sugar and vanilla.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 peaches, skinned and chopped
  • 23 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Milk, half-and-half, or cream for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crock Pot: Spray the inside of your crock pot with cooking spray.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Combine oats, milk, cinnamon, salt, and peaches in the crock pot. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours.
  3. Sweeten: Stir in brown sugar and vanilla.
  4. Serve: Drizzle with milk, half-and-half, or cream just before serving.

Notes

  • If you want to cook the oatmeal overnight, set to cook on LOW for 2 hours and then let it stay on warm for another 6 hours.
  • For a dairy free version, use a plant based milk.
  • Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your taste.
