Description

This Quick & Easy Chinese Lemon Chicken recipe is a flavorful and satisfying dish that can be made in no time. Tender chicken pieces are coated in a crispy cornstarch crust and then tossed in a tangy, sweet, and savory lemon sauce.


Ingredients

Chicken:

  • 1 lbs skinless boneless chicken thighs
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch or potato starch
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil or any neutral oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoon regular soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock low sodium
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch or sub with potato starch

Optional:

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds garnish

Instructions

  1. Sauce Preparation: In a small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients. Set aside.
  2. Prepare Chicken: Dice chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces. Season with salt and pepper. Coat the chicken in cornstarch.
  3. Fry Chicken: Fry coated chicken in hot oil until golden and crispy.
  4. Make Sauce: In the same pan, heat and thicken the sauce. Add chicken back to the pan and toss.
  5. Serve: Optionally garnish with sesame seeds, lemon slices, or green onions. Enjoy!

  • How to Air Fry Chicken: Lightly spray air fryer basket, lay coated chicken, air fry at 400°F for 12-14 mins.
