For the Pasta:
- 8 ounces uncooked DeLallo Casarecce Pasta
For the Sauce:
- 11 ounces Italian sausages, crumbled
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup little tomatoes (grape, cherry, etc.), halved
- 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped fairly small
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup DeLallo Simply Pesto
- Salt & pepper to taste
For Garnish:
- Freshly grated parmesan cheese & chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the Pasta: Boil a large, salted pot of water and cook the pasta al dente (about 8 minutes).
- Cook the Sausage: Crumble and brown the sausage in a deep skillet over medium-high heat, then transfer to a plate.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, cook mushrooms, onions, and garlic until browned.
- Add Remaining Ingredients: Add tomatoes, peppers, chicken broth, and sausage back to the skillet. Cook until tomatoes soften.
- Finish the Dish: Stir in pesto, toss drained pasta with sauce, season, and serve with garnishes.
Notes
- Feel free to use sausage meat instead of pre-packaged sausages.
- Adjust pasta quantity based on personal preference or serving size.
