Description

This Slow Cooker Shredded Beef recipe is the perfect fuss-free main course. It features a perfectly seasoned boneless chuck roast slow-cooked with onions, beef stock, and Worcestershire sauce until fall-apart tender. Ideal for serving over noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice, it’s a comforting and versatile dish suitable for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Beef

  • 34 pound boneless chuck roast

Vegetables

  • 1 large onion, sliced

Liquid Ingredients

  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Seasonings

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Slice the large onion and arrange the slices in an even layer on the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the boneless chuck roast directly on top of the onions.
  2. Add Liquid and Pierce Roast: Use a fork to pierce several holes across the top of the roast to help the seasonings penetrate. Pour the beef stock and Worcestershire sauce evenly over the roast.
  3. Season the Beef: In a small bowl, combine the sea salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Generously rub the seasoning mixture all over every side of the roast to ensure full flavor.
  4. Slow Cook: Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 8 hours until the beef is very tender and easily falls apart.
  5. Shred and Serve: Once cooked, use two forks to shred the beef into pieces. Serve the shredded beef over your choice of noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice for a delicious meal.
