Description

These Spinach Artichoke Bites are a delicious, bite-sized appetizer featuring a creamy spinach and artichoke mixture baked inside flaky crescent dough cups. They are perfect for parties or snacks, combining cheesy, garlicky flavors in an easy-to-make treat ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 2 cups frozen spinach, chopped and thawed
  • 6 ounces artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (divided)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt with parsley flakes
  • Black pepper, to taste

Dough

  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated seamless crescent dough
  • ¼ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (remaining portion for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F to prepare for baking the bites to golden perfection.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the thawed chopped spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, minced garlic, and grated parmesan cheese. Blend in the softened cream cheese along with half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Season the mixture with garlic salt and black pepper according to your taste. Set the filling aside.
  3. Shape the dough: Lay the crescent dough on a cutting board and use a rolling pin to lightly stretch it into an 8×12 inch rectangle. Cut the dough into twenty-four 2-inch squares.
  4. Form the cups: Lightly grease a mini muffin tin. Place one dough square into each muffin cup and gently press down to create a small indent without molding it tightly to the cup walls.
  5. Fill the cups: Spoon about one teaspoon of the spinach-artichoke mixture into each dough square in the muffin tin. Then, evenly sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese over the tops of each filled cup.
  6. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-17 minutes, or until the bites are puffed up and golden brown on top.
  7. Cool and serve: Remove the bites from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for 5-10 minutes before carefully removing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • These bites are a delicious, flaky finger food perfect for parties and appetizer platters.
  • Ensure the spinach is well thawed and drained to prevent soggy dough.
  • You can customize the cheese blend or add extra herbs for varied flavors.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and melty cheese experience.
